Golfers Hit the Links to Benefit New Hospital

  /  May 18, 2018

On May 14, nearly 150 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the green at the Washington Adventist Hospital Foundation’s 18th Annual Golf Classic. The event at the Country Club at Woodmore raised more than $215,000 to support our new Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center, opening in mid-2019.
Funds will empower the state-of-the-art hospital to support patients, families and caregivers with private rooms, cutting-edge technology and comprehensive outpatient services – all in a healing environment.
We extend a special thank you to Turner Construction Company and CallisonRTKL (the project’s architect), who generously served as the Golf Classic’s underwriters, as well as other top sponsors NAI The Michael Companies, U.S. Anesthesia Partners and Trammel Crow Company.
“Turner Construction Company is proud to partner with Adventist HealthCare and support their ministry of providing physical, mental and spiritual healing to the community,” said Joe Kranz, project executive at Turner Construction and chair of the event’s Golf Committee.

White Oak Medical Center will be located six miles north of its 13-acre Takoma Park, Md. campus. The new hospital will not only enhance our medical providers’ ability to deliver exceptional care – but it will also have a far-reaching economic impact on the entire region. As the clinical cornerstone of the White Oak Science Gateway, White Oak Medical Center will be adjacent to the FDA headquarters and at the center of Montgomery County’s emerging Life Sciences Gateway, known as Viva White Oak.
“We are so grateful to all of the sponsors, participants and volunteers who made this year’s Golf Classic event a success,” said Jim Damron, vice president and chief philanthropy officer at Adventist HealthCare. “Charitable support from our community members and colleagues helps make it possible to realize our vision of creating a next-generation hospital and continuing to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.”
