Physicians Step Forward to Transform our Community
News / September 5, 2017
The physicians at Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital play an integral role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to our patients. They are also committed to continuing the hospital’s legacy of whole-person healing at our new campus in White Oak. Physicians and physician groups have generously contributed more than a third of the $6.1 million raised for the capital campaign.
The capital campaign’s Physician Partners Committee, which includes physicians from departments across the hospital, is dedicated to the success of the campaign. The physicians have not only provided philanthropic support, but also have stepped forward as campaign ambassadors, truly becoming an extension of the Washington Adventist Hospital Foundation family.
“As physicians, I think it is important for us to give back and demonstrate our commitment to this important and exciting endeavor,” said David Remy, MD, president of the medical staff and co-chair of the Committee. “The new hospital will vastly improve our ability to serve our patients and their families.”
The new, state-of-the-art facility will provide physicians and other caregivers with the cutting-edge tools and environment they need to heal and save lives. “In the new ER, all the rooms will be private and we’ll have separate triage and waiting areas—imagine the impact on patients and providers,” said Linda Nordeman, MD, chair of the Emergency Department and Committee co-chair.
“The current facility has served the community well,” Remy added. “But we are excited to be part of Washington Adventist Hospital’s future.”
